Dr. April is a doctor of chiropractic, massage therapist, holistic health practitioner, yoga instructor and owner of the Wellness Lounge. She has been in the holistic health field for the past 13 years specializing massage therapy, nutrition, life counseling and chiropractic care. Dr. April has over 20,000 hours of massage training. Dr. April also currently works for the San Diego Chargers as a holistic health practitioner and massage therapist.
Dr. April received her Doctorate of Chiropractic in 2009 from Life Chiropractic College. In 2000 she received her massage therapy training at the Institution of Psycho Structural Balancing in 2000. In her Massage training she took numerous courses in many different massage techniques such as Swedish, Deep tissue, structural integration, cranio-sacral, shiatsu, and reflexology. It was there that her passion for massage grew, and she discovered her love for the hands on approach to healthcare. Dr. April also has a bachelor’s degree from San Francisco University in Psychology while double minoring in holistic health and kinesiology. It is with all this training and expertise that make Dr. April truly a unique chiropractor that really understands the body and can use many different methods to get results fast.
Dr. April specializes in integrated preventative care and wellness. This includes injury rehabilitation and sports performance, prenatal chiropractic, pediatric chiropractic, weight loss, pain management and many more. Her unique style blends deep tissue massage, energetic healing, and chiropractic care. She also focuses on nutritional and lifestyle coaching and sports injury therapy. She is highly experienced in Activator Therapy, Flexion Distraction, Webster Technique (for pregnant women), BGI (Biogeometric Integration), and numerous other chiropractic approaches. Her main focus is to bring physical, emotional, and mental harmony and make the body function at it’s best.
Dr. April is originally from San Francisco and has lived in New York and London. She moved to San Diego because of her love of the beach and sunny weather. On her days off she enjoys yoga and Pilates, kayaking, playing volleyball, surfing, cooking, and spending time with friends and family and her little yorkie Layla.
