Dr. April
Dr. April is a doctor of chiropractic, massage therapist, holistic health practitioner, yoga therapist, reiki master, and owner of the Wellness Lounge. She has been in the holistic health field for the past 19 years specializing chiropractic, massage and yoga therapy, nutrition, energy healing, and teaches yoga therapy, meditation, breathwork and leads yoga teacher training and workshops.
Dr. April received her Doctorate of Chiropractic in 2009 from Life Chiropractic College. She blends various chiropractic techniques such as diversified, drop table, activator, injury rehabilitation, Bio-geometric integration (energetic tonal chiropractic). She also specializes in prenatal Webster Technique and pediatric chiropractic and massage. In 2000 she received her massage therapy training at the IPSB and continues studying massage throughout her career. Dr. April has over 20,000 hours of massage training from structural integration, craniosacral, thai massage, ART, myofascial and is creator of the chiroprassage blending deep tissue massage, energy healing and chiropractic care. It was there that her passion for massage grew, and she discovered her love for the hands on approach to healthcare. Dr. April has always love mindbody medicine and received a bachelor’s degree from San Francisco University in Psychology while minoring in holistic health with focus on Ayurveda and Chinese Medicine. She is also an experienced yoga teacher, anatomy teacher and teaches paddleboard yoga. It is with all this training and expertise that make Dr. April truly a unique healer that continues to study healing and understands the body, using many different modalities to get results. She loves to take her time with her clients and has created a community of healing in San Diego with both Wellness Lounge locations.
Her unique style blends deep tissue massage, energetic healing, and chiropractic care and yoga therapy. She also focuses on emotional healing, nutrition, lifestyle coaching and sports injury therapy. Her main focus is to bring physical, emotional, and mental harmony and make the body function at it’s best.
Dr. April is originally from San Francisco and has lived in New York and London. Before starting her journey into holistic health she was a professional bassist until she realized health and healing were her true passion and loves to bring that harmony and creativity into her sessions. She moved to San Diego after school because of her love of the beach and sunny weather. On her days off she enjoys yoga, paddleboarding, gardening, cooking, and spending time with friends and family and her amazing dog Layla.
Dr. Austin
Dr. Austin received her doctorate in chiropractic from Palmer West Chiropractic College in San Jose, CA and her BS in kinesiology with a minor in psychology from San Diego State University. Originally from the San Francisco Bay Area, she is excited to be returning to beautiful San Diego. She is also working towards receiving her chiropractic diplomate in rehabilitative exercise through the Midwestern Rehabilitation Institute.
She has experience in many chiropractic and soft tissue techniques including injury and post-surgical rehabilitation, pre-natal care, Graston/ Gua Sha, massage, Active Release Technique, trigger point therapy, sacro-occipital technique, RockTape and kinesiotaping, and extremity adjusting.
Dr. Austin believes chiropractic is more than simply adjusting the body. She takes a full body approach to wellness and pain management in order to find the root of the problem. By blending structural balance, nutrition, and exercise, she works to reach you health goals.
Dr. Reyhaneh
Dr. Reyhaneh received her doctorate degree from Cleveland Chiropractic College Los Angeles in 2012.
She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of San Diego in 1995 majoring in English and Biology with a minor in Chemistry.
Dr. Reyhaneh is a San Diego Native and graduated from Francis Parker High School. She served as the Student American Chiropractic Association National Specialty Council Chair and served as the President of the Student American Chiropractic Association and the President of the Student California Chiropractic Association at Cleveland. She was the Chair of the 8th Annual Student American Chiropractic Association Leadership Conference. It was the largest conference hosted to date. Reyhaneh was very highly involved in her time at Cleveland and attended several Chiropractic conferences in Washington D.C., Rhode Island, Texas, Nevada, Oregon, Minnesota, Puerto Rico, and Brazil.
Dr. Reyhaneh served on a Chiropractic Spinal Mission in El Salvador where she had the privilege to give back to patients in underserved areas. In December 2011 she was asked to travel to Shiraz, Iran to present at one of the largest hospitals about Chiropractic. This was the first event on Chiropractic to ever be hosted in Iran. This summer she will be traveling to Bolivia for 10 days to serve those in need.
She has had course training in diversified adjusting, rehab and functional assessment, sports medicine, Clinical nutrition, Graston Technique, Kinesio-taping, Activator Tech., Certified Chiropractic Extremities Practitioner, Functional and Kinetic Treatment with Rehab (FAKTR). She is certified in Graston Technique, Kinesio-Taping, and Functional and Kinetic Treatment with Rehab (FAKTR).
